Adoption Page
Dear Expectant Parent,
We understand that you must be
going through a
roller coaster ride of thoughts and emotions. We pray that
you
receive the guidance to make a decision that will bring you peace of
mind and comfort. If you have come to the decision to place
your
child for adoption, please consider us. It would be a long
awaited blessing to bring a child into our lives. Your child
will
be raised with unconditional love and laughter, security, health,
happiness and some spoiling from his/her grandparents. We
will
support him/her to be the best person that he/she chooses to be.
Children have always been a
part of our lives
both professionally and personally. Michael
graduated with
a Teaching Certification in Secondary Science. He went on to
the
SUNY College of Optometry on a full Scholarship from the US
Army.
He also worked there as an Associate Clinical Professor. As a Colonel
in the Army, Michael served both on active duty and in the Reserves. He
has run a private practice in Optometry for the last 22 years. In his
practice he works with children doing Vision Therapy (for visually
related learning disabilities) and volunteering for the Lions Club
going to local schools to do eye exams. In his free time,
Michael likes working on projects around the house and participating in
the Lions Club.
During my college years I
dedicated much of my
time to volunteering, working at daycare centers and in pre-schools for
Migrant Farmers Children. I also volunteered at the School Radio
Station. I graduated with an Elementary Education Certification N-6 and
later, while teaching in a Montessori Pre-school, received my masters
in Reading Specialization K-12. As Classroom teacher, tutor and Reading
Specialist, I have taught Pre-K through 12th grade. I find
each
age has its’ own special characteristics to enjoy. In
addition to my classroom time, I have loved being involved with
after-school activities such as Cheerleading coach, bringing together
middle school students and senior citizens for social activities,
Reading fair/fund-raisers and being make-up artist for school
plays. During my free time, I like to, cook, play the piano,
walk, work on craft projects and get together with my
friends.
Michael and I have been
together for eight and a
half years. We were introduced by two sets of
mutual
friends. Michael came to my school to speak-where we got a
sneak
peek at each other. We have merged our lives together making
it a
complete balance. We are extremely close to our family and
friends (who are an extension of our family). While adding
new
friendships to our social circles, we have maintained our old
friendships even as far back as elementary school.
We have
had the pleasure of participating and watching our friends’
children grow.
We enjoy doing just about anything which includes them; travel, dinner,
beach, shows, festivals and entertaining at home. Our social
interactions and babysitting have only increased our desire to adopt a
child of our own.
We have recently moved to a
home, which is
down the street from my parents, who are excited at the prospect of
having a grandchild. It is in a quiet, residential
neighborhood
full of children, yet within five minutes of shopping, schools and
parks. Our social interactions and babysitting have only increased our
desire to adopt a child of our own.
We have filed a petition with
the courts in
New York to become certified as qualified adoptive parents.
This
will allow us to pursue an independent adoption. Our
attorneys
are dedicated to a fair and legal process. If you would like,
you
may call our attorneys, Nina E. Rumbold and Denise Seidelman, toll free
at 1-888-962-3001. They are kind and easy to talk to.
We promise to honor your role
in your
child’s life and to provide a nurturing, supportive environment
filled with lots of opportunities and love.
